Striker Van Quyet made a hat trick within ten opening minutes at the fourth match day game with minnow Brunei at the SEA Games in Indonesia on Saturday. 

Van Quyet scored three opening goals before Thanh Luong and Van Thang extended it to 5-0 within the first 16 minutes. Being awarded a corner kick during the first attack along the left wing, Vietnamese midfielder Van Binh made a cross into the box for striker Van Quyet who nodded home the opening goal to take Vietnam to a 1-0 lead. Quyet kept on his rhythm and scored two others in the 11th and 12th minutes of the easy encounter. 

The sixth goal was a spectacular one by midfielder Van Binh, who controlled the ball in the midfield 30 meters from Brunei goal frame and lobbed it over the reach of goalie Junaidi Akim before diving down into the goal in the 29th minute. 

Nine minutes into the second half, Vietnamese striker Hoang Thien expanded the Brunei rout to 7-0 after a making a cushion to defeat Brunei's substitute keeper Akim. 

Substitute Dinh Tung added another goal in the 72nd minute to fix the victory 8-0. Vietnamese players have staged the game with an attacking formation and created dominance in ball possession. Vietnam created 7 corner kicks while Brunei with only 2. 

With the win, Vietnam emerged to top group B with 10 points after four matches. 

In the last three games, Vietnam had beaten the Philippines 3-1 and drew Myanmar 0-0 before defeating Timor Leste 2-0. 

Brunei remains last at the group after four matches with a draw and three losses, scoring three goals and concedeing 16.
