Vietnam came from behind to beat the Philippines 3-1 today after missing half a dozen chances at the opening game of the Southeast Asian Games in Indonesia Thursday.
Filipino striker Manuel Ott opened the score for his side at the 37th minute following a short-range blast before Vietnam braced up their formation to score all three goals in the second half of the breathtaking match.
Fourteen minutes in the second session, Vietnam leveled it 1-1 thanks to an own goal by Filipino captain Hartmann. Hoang Thien and Van Quyet extended the score to 3-1 in the 73rd and 92nd minutes.
Striker Van Quyet wearing his jersey numbered 12 shot wide at least three times though he was set up in favorable positions.
